Living in South Florida, the seasons are a bit different. While most of the country is looking forward to the season so they can fly open the windows, put sandals on and do various outdoor activities, such as picnics, ball games, festivals and parades with all the fun and charm the summer brings, there’s a little less enthusiasm when you live here. Yes, Florida residents have all these activities and more! Many of them include stocking up on bug spray and hurricane supplies and retreating to the indoors during the hottest time of the day. Outdoor activities are limited, unless they include swimming in the pool or the beach to be performed in the early morning or evening hours.
It’s the time of year to get caught up on indoor chores, redecorating, painting and other things that inspire your inside environment. I love the summer here, just a change of pace for sure. Happy summer to all.
What’s behind door #1 or door #2?
Looking for architectural elements, I looked around the neighborhood, searching for an elements that reflected an earlier time. There are many buildings and shops built in the 1950’s in the area. I came across this old barbershop. When I walked around, I saw these two skinny doors and thought it was fascinating. The building has recently been sold and being remodeled to be a law office. There’s a story behind these twin doors.
